BSL has, over the years, developed flexible construction methods that adapt to several types of varied projects.

To do this, BSL has developed several security procedures over the years:

  • Formwork and concreting procedures;
  • Heavy structure lifting procedures with cranes;
  • Bolting procedures;
  • Scheduled shutdown procedures;
  • Rescue Procedures;
  • Procedures for asbestos removal;
  • Environmental protection procedures;

Our engineers design different plans to meet the requirements of each project:

  • Formwork plans;
  • Shoring Plans;
  • Lifting plans.

These same engineers are then obliged to attest to the conformity of the installations on site in order to ensure that the work is safe for the public but also for our workers.

EVOLUTION OF THE FIRM

the history of BSL

  • BSL began its activities as a general contractor, focusing on the specialized concrete industry, particularly for the pulp and paper industry around the Québec City area.

  • The organizational structure becomes clearer. The three project managers are all engineers, and the company also extends its scope in:

    -water treatment (municipalities)
    -structures (bridges, viaducts and dams)
    -the rehabilitation of institutional structures (hospitals)
    -heavy industry (aluminum smelting, cement works)

  • Given the size of the market in Montréal, the company's activities take a new step, opening an office in Laval in order to better serve The Montreal area market.

  • In order to centralize its workforce, BSL moves into new offices in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.

  • BSL share ownership with employees

Constructions BSL has teamed up with the Dipso System, a prefabricated concrete floor slab concept, adaptable to many types of residential buildings, condos, hotels or offices. DIPSO's patented prefabricated floor slab system is innovative and superior to industry standards. It is to the advantage of architects, engineers and builders eager for performance, productivity, quality and allows the scaling up for LEED certification.
